Ukrainian MAC HUB and Paramount Greece to jointly develop USVs and interceptor drones

Ukrainian defence tech company MAC HUB and Greece’s Paramount Greece have announced an expansion of their strategic partnership. Unmanned surface vehicles and interceptor drones have now been added to the companies’ joint projects, the partners announced during Eurosatory 2026 in Paris.

Under the expanded agreement, the companies will work together on the further development of MAC HUB’s products, including the MAC Dead Fly interceptor drone and the Katran family of maritime drones. As part of the partnership, MAC HUB and Paramount Greece will develop new variants of both systems and promote them in international markets.

The partners will also explore opportunities to establish local production of these systems outside Ukraine.

Defender Media first covered the MAC Dead Fly interceptor family in May 2026, when the drones became available through the Brave1 Market platform. One of the system’s key features is its flexible launch concept: it can be launched vertically from ground-based platforms or released from a carrier aircraft travelling at around 160 km/h.

The Katran family of unmanned surface vessels is designed to perform a wide range of missions, including maritime surveillance, reconnaissance, force protection and asymmetric naval operations. The platform can also serve as a launch platform for MAC Dead Fly interceptors. During recent tests conducted by Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Directorate (HUR) on the Dnipro River, 27 interceptors were successfully launched from a Katran X1.2 uncrewed surface vessel.

MAC HUB and Paramount Greece already have experience working together. Their previous cooperation resulted in the development of the MAC OWL (Sova) armoured combat vehicle.
