Ukrainian-Estonian startup Teletactica has received a grant from the Estonian Ministry of Defence to develop communications systems resilient to electronic warfare. The company is currently expanding its local team and working on a protected mesh communications system, CEO and co-founder Yevhen Zhebko told Defender Media.

The Estonian office’s objective is to develop a new class of system that will be difficult to suppress. The company secured a grant from the Estonian Ministry of Defence for this purpose. Development is expected to take 18 months, though it may be completed sooner. The total project`s value is €300,000, with the grant covering 40% and the team self-financing the remainder.

Teletactica currently has offices in Ukraine, Estonia, and Latvia. The European offices expand access to specialists, laboratories, and partnerships, Zhebko explains. The Estonian-Ukrainian vector focuses on R&D and research.

The Latvian office is engaged in drone development, utilising the company’s communications technologies, among others. “We already have a local team there, and we are collaborating with the Ministry of Defence and local manufacturers,” the CEO said.

Drone production began as a means of conducting high-quality demonstrations. However, this direction may gradually grow into a standalone line of drone manufacturing and sales, the co-founder predicts. The solution is currently in production and testing. The company aims to produce mobile copters capable of operating reliably at a range of 35–40 km.

Teletactica develops protected communications equipment that integrates into UAVs, UGVs, and other unmanned platforms. Its flagship products include video modems, telemetry modems, and antennas. The company also offers an FPV kit comprising several components. Its developments are already in use by the Ukrainian military. Last summer, Teletactica raised $1.5 million from MITS Capital and Green Flag Ventures.
