Dutch Tulip Tech developed batteries that can double the flight time of Matrice and Mavic drones

Dutch company Tulip Tech, which manufactures batteries for drones, has published the results of practical use of its 4S1P 16Ah battery by Ukraine’s Defence Forces. The battery is designed for reconnaissance drones and was introduced by the company in early June 2026.
According to feedback from Ukrainian military personnel cited by Tulip Tech, the 4S1P 16Ah can double the flight time of DJI Matrice 4T and Mavic 3T drones in certain configurations compared with their standard flight times.
The Dutch company says development of the battery began following direct feedback from Ukrainian military personnel, who needed batteries with lower weight but higher capacity. The first prototypes were ready in March 2026, and after several iterations, production of the 4S1P 16Ah was scaled up to tens of thousands of units.
According to Tulip Tech, the key differences of the new battery are its energy density of 475 Wh/kg and its capacity of 16 Ah. The company says these figures are twice those of comparable batteries on the market. The battery weighs approximately 560 g.

Tulip Tech is a Dutch manufacturer of high-density batteries for unmanned systems. The company produces around one million high-density batteries per year. Part of its team is based in Ukraine and works directly with manufacturers and military units.
Tulip Tech says its flagship batteries, with an energy density of 350 Wh/kg, can increase flight time or payload capacity by 30–50% compared with conventional batteries. The manufacturer believes such solutions are particularly relevant for fixed-wing strike UAVs and reconnaissance platforms.
