During its field Demo Day, TAF Industries showcased both updated and new electronic warfare solutions — the upgraded ‘Kvazar 3M’ and ‘Kvazar A’ systems, the portable TL Spectrum spectrum analyser, and the TL Control remote management platform. The demonstration included suppression of FPV drone signals in both stationary and vehicle-mounted configurations.

Recently, Defender Media reported that since mid-2023, TAF Industries has invested over $6 million in other defence tech firms. In particular, the company acquired 51% of the EW-systems manufacturer Kvazar and 60% of the reconnaissance UAV maker Babka. The parent company showcased the reconnaissance drones at its previous demo day, and now it is the Kvazar team’s turn to present its developments. Defender Media brings you the most interesting updates.

Kvazars: upgraded and codified

The updated ‘Kvazar 3M’ system was presented in three module configurations — small (3–5 frequency bands), medium (6–8 frequency bands), and large (9–10 frequency bands). It can operate across 19 frequencies simultaneously and has an effective range of up to 300 metres. Battery life is between 1.5 and 2 hours. The systems have been codified by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence for the 120–5850 MHz range, with more than 500 complexes already in frontline use.

‘Kvazar A’ is a short-range system designed to protect armoured vehicles and cars from multicopter UAVs and loitering munitions. The updated model features reduced size, redesigned suppression and antenna units, and improved cabling that minimises cross-frequency interference. The streamlined antennas are magnetically mounted and can be installed within five minutes.

All products in the Kvazar electronic warfare line are equipped with an IP66 protection rating and have undergone certified testing for heat resistance (up to 70°C), vibration, and protection against dust and water ingress.

TAF Industries’ head of EW development, Maksym Teftul, announced plans to demonstrate simultaneous operation across 10 frequency bands on a passenger vehicle, as well as the next development — a digital suppressor (DDS) designed for targeted signal jamming.

TL Control remote management platform

The TL Control platform is a command interface for Kvazar-series electronic warfare systems. It enables remote control of multiple EW units from a mobile device or PC with a Starlink connection. The interface enables users to switch individual modules on and off, as well as remotely monitor device voltage and battery levels.

TL Spectrum — compact video signal detector

The TL Spectrum is introduced as an EW tester for quick module functionality checks. It comes in two versions, covering frequencies from 360 to 2700 MHz. The TL Spectrum allows users to determine within seconds whether all system bands are active, whether the EW system operates across its full range, and to identify malfunctioning modules. The effective detection range is up to 5 metres from the signal source.

Analogue video signal detector

TAF Industries also presented an analogue video channel detector with a broad operating range of 500–6000 MHz. The device scans all channels within 10 seconds and alerts users to any newly added frequencies, providing time to respond to potential threats. The detector requires a Starlink connection and is designed for identifying analogue video signals.

TAF Industries is a defence tech developer and manufacturer specialising in strike drones, reconnaissance complexes, relay systems, electronic warfare technologies and AI solutions. The company produces up to 80,000 FPV drones monthly, over 100 EW systems, and additional supporting equipment.
