DevDroid’s new UGV is armed with a 40 mm grenade launcher

Ukrainian company DevDroid has unveiled its new Droid TW-40 reconnaissance and strike UGV. The system combines a six-wheeled mobile platform, the Wolly 40 weapon station adapted for the Mk 19 automatic grenade launcher, and the universal Droid Box control system.

The Droid TW-40 is designed to provide fire support for infantry units and engage enemy positions, shelters, manpower, and lightly armoured vehicles. The 40 mm automatic grenade launcher enables the system to engage targets from both direct and indirect firing positions at ranges of up to 1.5 km.

To improve accuracy, the system is equipped with an integrated ballistic computer, a coordinate-based targeting system, and a thermal imaging camera providing target detection and tracking within line-of-sight conditions.

The six-wheeled platform enables movement across off-road terrain, marshlands, sand, snow, and rocky areas. The Droid TW-40 is also capable of crossing shallow water obstacles. The UGV reaches a maximum speed of up to 13 km/h, with an operational range of up to 70 km on paved roads and up to 50 km off-road. In standby mode, the system can remain operational for up to 120 hours.

The Droid TW-40 is operated via the universal Droid Box system, which supports up to six communication channels, including radio, LTE, and satellite links. The system allows operators to control both the ground platform and the weapon station through a single interface.

The Droid TW-40 has already completed codification and has been approved for service with the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
