Buntar-3 reconnaissance drone receives remote control feature

Ukrainian defence tech company Buntar Aerospace has presented a new feature that allows remote control of the Buntar-3 reconnaissance drone. It has been added to the manufacturer’s software – Buntar Copilot, which is supplied together with the drone.

The team at the launch point must set up an antenna, a laptop and a Starlink terminal, and launch the aircraft into the air. After this, the point becomes a relay through which the pilot and camera operator connect to the drone via the internet.

The drone can be controlled using the Buntar Copilot application. The company says it combines all the data needed to manage the mission: ‘Video from the cameras, airframe telemetry, antenna telemetry and log files are transmitted in separate streams – this ensures stable control.’

Buntar Aerospace co-founder Bohdan Sas adds that this feature makes it possible to protect operators and move them further away from the danger zone. Previously, remote control for its drones was implemented by Deviro. The technology works with both the Leleka reconnaissance drone and the Bulava – the company’s mid-strike.

At the same time, remote control is also developing in the field of interceptor drones. For example, it became known today that the military shot down a thousand enemy UAVs using the Hornet Vision Ctrl system.
