General Cherry and STRIX unveil interceptor for jet-powered Shahed drones

General Cherry and STRIX have signed a strategic cooperation agreement covering defence technology, artificial intelligence, and modern battlefield capabilities. The companies plan to scale up countermeasures against strike UAVs, including all Shahed variants and the jet-powered Geran-4. The announcement was made by General Cherry.

The General Cherry BULLET interceptor family already utilises the STRIX kinetic accelerator, which successfully completed testing one year ago.

According to the manufacturer, the new BULLET modification was developed specifically in response to the emergence of jet-powered Shahed drones. The company has not disclosed detailed technical specifications.

Earlier interceptors in the BULLET family can achieve speeds of up to 310 km/h, reach altitudes of up to 6 km, and remain airborne for up to 25 minutes. Depending on the integrated optics package — daytime or thermal-imaging cameras, utilizing either a digital or analogue video link — the drone’s cost ranges between UAH 31,000 and UAH 58,000.

General Cherry also offers a multicopter-type interceptor, the General Cherry AIR, which is already deployed with more than 100 brigades.
