Ukrainian drone developer General Cherry has announced the launch of joint component production with Croatian company ORQA. The facility will be located in Ukraine, with the partners already constructing a large underground factory.

According to General Cherry co-founder Yaroslav Hryshyn, the partnership with ORQA will be the first under the Build in Ukraine programme — a model in which foreign defence companies set up production directly in Ukraine. At the same time, the two companies are launching joint serial production in Croatia, where they will develop “the latest technologies for the drone industry.”

General Cherry states that it aims to achieve full localisation of component production in Ukraine. The first joint products are expected to appear in the near future.

General Cherry currently manufactures FPV drones of various sizes, fibre-optic UAVs, and the AIR and Bullet interceptors. The company recently announced the establishment of a joint venture in the USA with American firm Wilcox Industries.

ORQA manufactures drones and drone components in Europe and works with more than 50 countries worldwide and 24 NATO members. The company states that its products are manufactured entirely without Chinese components.
