Bravo Dynamics tests mesh network for UGV control under EW conditions

Ukrainian defence tech company Bravo Dynamics has successfully field-tested a mesh network architecture designed for the command and control of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) in challenging terrain, dense vegetation, and electronic warfare (EW) environments. The capability demonstration was conducted for representatives of frontline combat units and UGV manufacturers, Militarnyi reports.

During the trials, the tactical network comprised a base station and three intermediate relay nodes deployed strategically along the platform’s route. The UGV successfully completed the operational course while maintaining an uninterrupted telemetry stream of control commands and high-definition video feeds.

In the final evaluation phase, the robot penetrated a dense tree line to a depth of approximately 90 metres and returned to its staging area without experiencing any signal degradation or loss of communication.

According to the company, the current network configuration can simultaneously manage and support up to three independent ground robotic platforms.

Alongside the core communications hardware, the developers evaluated specialised software suites for network planning and topology management. Specifically, they tested a radio-frequency (RF) planning system that enables operators to model signal coverage in advance and pinpoint optimal deployment locations for relay nodes. Additionally, they validated a diagnostic monitoring interface that visualises network topology and node status in real time.

Earlier, Defender Media reported on operational trials of the Phantom 3.0″ communications system tailored for uncrewed ground platforms. This year, Bravo Dynamics announced it had raised investment from Freedom Fund VC and Sweden’s Hede Capital Partners AB. The company was also recognised as one of the top defence tech innovators at IT Arena 2025.
