Defence startup Codective, founded by Ukrainians in the US, has raised seed investment from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). The funding will be used to develop autonomous navigation systems, the company said in a recent press release.

Codective founder and CEO Anton Herasymenko told Defender Media the investment amounts to $200,000. The startup sees IAI as a strategic investor and plans to launch a pilot project together.

The investment is earmarked for scaling the IVFOS (Inertial Visual Flow and Optical System) platform. This technology enables precision navigation without reliance on GNSS or GPS signals, providing a critical solution for environments where satellite signals are jammed, lost, or compromised.

The IVFOS suite integrates computer vision, visual odometry, inertial navigation, sensor fusion, and onboard edge computing. This multi-layered approach enables unmanned and autonomous systems to maintain high positioning accuracy in contested electronic warfare (EW) environments, including during sophisticated signal-spoofing attacks.

The company intends to utilise the funding to accelerate technological development, expand field validation trials, and prepare for integration with aviation and defence platforms. Additionally, the capital will support the expansion of the engineering team and the launch of pilot projects with strategic partners.

Codective also revealed plans to prepare for a subsequent funding round and to deepen cooperation with both governmental and private defence entities across allied nations.
