TAF Drones has developed a lightweight reconnaissance complex Babka, designed to perform tasks in tactical depth. The manufacturer reports that the system was codified by the Ministry of Defence in May.

“Babka” is an aircraft-type drone designed for aerial reconnaissance and artillery fire correction. It is capable of operating in conditions of active electronic warfare, while maintaining the stability of communications and navigation. The drone has already been tested on the front line.

The company explains that the idea of creating a drone arose due to a request from the military for an inexpensive reconnaissance device, the loss of which would not have critical consequences. Unlike expensive systems that the military must use cautiously due to weather conditions and the enemy’s electronic warfare and air defence activity, the Babka can be used freely even in challenging environments.

According to the manufacturer, the drone can stay in the air for up to two hours and operate at a distance of up to 40 kilometres. It is equipped with a digital video system with a 30x optical zoom, has a navigation system without using GPS and multi-channel communication with pseudo-random tuning of the operating frequency.

The complex includes from two to four drones, a repeater, a ground station and tablets with an integrated fire control system Kropyva.

It is also worth noting that TAF Drones is a Ukrainian manufacturer of FPV drones Kolibri, dome and portable electronic warfare systems “Kvazar” and related equipment. Recently, the company announced the start of serial production of the Last Mile guidance module.
