Three most promising startups in Ukrainian defence tech: DOU Awards results

On March 20, the DOU Awards final saw readers and an expert jury selected the top projects shaping Ukraine’s IT and tech growth. Out of 12 categories, Defender highlighted those focused on defence tech.

In the “Most Promising Project in Defense Tech” category, three projects were recognised as winners:

  • Vezha – a battlefield video analysis platform
  • HIMERA – secure communication systems
  • Buntar Aerospace – a company specialising in drone development and software

In the “Influential Voice in the World” category, Yaroslav Azhnyuk, the founder of several companies, including the defence tech project The Fourth Law, was honoured.

In the “They Inspire” category, the winners included Kateryna Chernogorenko, Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization, and Oleh Berestovyi, Head of the IT Department at the Ministry of Defense.

In the “Most Impactful IT Initiative Bringing Victory Closer” category, four projects were recognised:

  2. DrukArmy Community
  3. Social Drone UA Initiative
  4. KOLO Charitable Foundation
