Ukraine plans to produce more than 7 million drones in 2026. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Defence Serhii Boiev during the OFDEF conference focused on coordinating defence support for Ukraine from partner states.

Unmanned systems currently provide a strike zone up to 20 kilometres deep. The next objective is to expand this zone to 100 kilometres through strikes on Russian targets in the operational depth. Among the priorities for 2026, Boiev named air and missile defence systems, missiles for these systems, Ukrainian-made drones, and extended-range artillery ammunition. According to him, Ukraine proposes that partners direct around 80% of security assistance to these areas.

Ukraine’s military strategy, developed jointly with its allies, предусматривает the defence of cities and critical infrastructure, stabilisation of the front line, disruption of Russian logistics in the operational depth, and strikes on the enemy’s strategic targets. Implementing this strategy in 2026 will require USD 120 billion. Of this amount, USD 60 billion is planned to be covered through the state budget and loans from the European Union, while another USD 60 billion is expected from partners in the form of security assistance.

It should be recalled that in December the Ministry of Defence announced the allocation of UAH 12 billion for orders of drones and other equipment through DOT-Chain Defence in the first quarter of 2026.
