Air3F codifies Varkhan UGV with 72-hour endurance

The Varkhan unmanned ground vehicle, developed by Ukrainian company Air3F, has been codified and approved for use by the Ukrainian Defence Forces. The company said the UGV is already in combat use.

Varkhan was first reported on last year. At the time, the UGV was described as a multi-purpose platform for logistics, evacuation and supporting units. The manufacturer is now focusing on its logistics capabilities and has updated its specifications accordingly. The updated model can operate for up to 72 hours, travel up to 50 km without a payload and reach speeds of up to 20 km/h.

The system is built on a four-wheel-drive 4×4 chassis with dependent suspension and 220 mm of ground clearance. It has a payload capacity of up to 300 kg and is designed to operate on dirt, sand, snow, mud and other difficult terrain.

For control and data transmission, Varkhan uses a secure analogue radio link and supports integration with Starlink and cellular LTE. The communications system can be adapted to the operating conditions. The UGV is also equipped with infrared illumination for operations in darkness.

The basic configuration costs UAH 729,000, while versions with Starlink and LTE cost slightly more than UAH 1 million.

Varkhan is part of Air3F’s ecosystem of solutions, which also includes T-Bone ground control stations, antennas, masts, repeaters and rotary mechanisms.
