Ukrainian HIMERA and Finland’s Bittium to jointly develop tactical communications systems
Companies have signed a memorandum of understanding during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdansk

Finnish communications technology company Bittium and Ukrainian secure communications manufacturer HIMERA have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on the development of defence communications solutions. The agreement was signed during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, Poland.
The companies say the partnership aims to develop new solutions that address the evolving communications requirements of modern armed forces. As part of the cooperation, Bittium and HIMERA will explore interoperability and integration opportunities between Bittium’s defence communications portfolio and HIMERA’s field-proven tactical communications systems.
According to HIMERA co-founder and CEO Misha Rudominski, cooperation between Finland and Ukraine — as well as between Bittium and HIMERA — is a natural fit, as both countries face many of the same security challenges.
Tommi Kangas, Senior Vice President of Bittium Defence & Security, said the companies plan to work together on solutions for the Finnish and Ukrainian defence forces while also exploring opportunities to develop capabilities aligned with NATO requirements.
Bittium has operated in the radio communications technology sector for over 40 years. In 2025, its revenue amounted to €119.3 million, while operating profit reached €19.4 million. The company is listed on Nasdaq Helsinki. Bittium’s defence and security portfolio includes the Bittium TAC WIN tactical wireless IP network, the Bittium Tough SDR family of software-defined radios, the Bittium MissionNet vehicular communications system, Bittium ToughMobile devices, and Bittium Safemove cybersecurity solutions certified to NATO Restricted and Confidential levels.
