Ukrainian defence tech companies continue to actively hire specialists — from embedded engineers and DevOps professionals to UAV pilots and C-level leaders. Yesterday, Defender Media learned that Ukrainian company Airlogix is launching a joint venture with Canadian company Sentinel R&D, the manufacturer of the ReKam UAS. The joint venture between Airlogix and Sentinel will develop drones for the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Currently, 115 different job openings are available on the Airlogix website.

DroneOps, a product IT company developing alternative navigation solutions for UAVs, is looking for a multicopter UAV pilot-technician.

Pilot-technician of a copter-type UAV

We are looking for an experienced UAV copter pilot-technician to join our flight team to test our development of an alternative navigation system in the absence of GPS. The candidate must be confident in flying drones, be technically literate, have a deep understanding of the operation of the main components of the UAV and have experience working with Ardupilot-based systems. The work includes piloting the UAV copter, testing and assisting with technical aspects related to flights.

Responsibilities:

Operate copter-type UAVs
Perform pre-flight checks and adjustments to UAVs
Maintain aircraft and associated equipment
Assist in flight planning and safety procedures
Troubleshoot UAV hardware
Record and report flight data
Work with engineers during testing and development of new platforms

Required skills:

Real-world experience flying a copter-type UAV for at least 30 hours
Understanding the operation of the main components of a UAV
Advanced knowledge of Ardupilot
Experience working with mission planning programs (Mission Planner, QGroundControl)
Ability to safely operate a drone in the field
Skills in diagnosing and repairing UAVs and related equipment

Will be a plus:

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education
Experience working with aircraft-type UAVs
English level B1 and above
Experience with wing-type UAVs
Preference in hiring is given to people with combat experience and veterans
