Ukrainian company Atmaraksi has presented the simulator “Duel VR: FPV vs GUN”, designed to train military personnel for operations in modern combat conditions. The system models interaction between an FPV drone operator and a shooter in a virtual environment, the company reported.

According to the company’s CEO, Anton Ponomarenko, the aim of the development is to create conditions in which participants’ decisions and actions have real consequences rather than simply simulating combat situations.

A key feature of the simulator is the technological integration of drone control during the final phase of attack: Atmaraksi allows the operator to maintain control until the very last second. At the same time, the shooter also trains, recreating the conditions of real confrontation.

The simulator has a modular and scalable architecture, which can be adapted to the needs of different security forces. The system’s scenario core can be configured to match the tactical requirements of specific units or training institutions. At the request of a police training centre, a virtual frontline checkpoint location was developed and is already being used for practical personnel training.

According to Atmaraksi, the system has been implemented in more than 100 Ukrainian units. The architecture is compatible with international training protocols, including NATO standards, enabling its use in joint exercises and international training programmes.

Founded in 2013, Atmaraksi specialises in developing VR solutions for the defence, education and industrial sectors, and also works on projects in VR rehabilitation for PTSD and phantom pain for both military personnel and civilians.
