For the first time, the European Defense Tech Hackathon will take place in Kyiv from 6 to 9 November, bringing together over 200 engineers to develop solutions for countering drones. Organised by the European Defense Tech Hub (EDTH), Moodro, and the Snake Island Institute, the event will gather engineers, companies, investors, and military representatives. The programme includes lectures, workshops, a 48-hour hackathon, and final project presentations.

Joining as participants or mentors available via this link, while participant registration is available here.

Attendance during the hackathon will be restricted, but everyone is welcome to join the public Demo Day on Sunday, 9 November, to see the teams’ results.

“We run hackathons to accelerate the development of defence technologies by engaging talented and motivated people in the industry. After 20+ events in 15 European countries, we’re heading to Kyiv — a city that has become a hub for defence innovation and ambitious minds. We believe that a safe future is possible thanks to the Ukrainian military, technology, and partnerships,” said Benjamin Wolba, co-founder of the European Defense Tech Hub.

Since its launch in 2024, EDTH events have brought together over 2,000 participants, 150+ teams, and helped solve more than 150 real defence challenges across Munich, London, Paris, Lviv, Copenhagen, Warsaw, and Amsterdam.

Recently, Defender Media published a selection of the most interesting defence tech events taking place in October.
