Ukrainian company AIDronesUA and US-based Empery Digital Inc. have signed a memorandum of understanding, the Ukrainian side told Defender Media. The agreement creates a framework for strategic investment by the US company in AIDronesUA, which develops the MAUL UGV for casualty evacuation.

The companies stress that this is not a completed investment deal at this stage. They will conduct a technical and economic assessment, financial modelling and due diligence to evaluate the potential for a future partnership.

As part of the evaluation, Empery Digital plans to assess AIDronesUA’s technology stack, operations, manufacturing requirements, financial requirements, regulatory compliance, supply chains, and opportunities for international expansion.

The parties will also explore potential frameworks for future cooperation. These include direct investment, establishing a joint venture, setting up local production, or pursuing other strategic partnerships. A binding agreement can only be concluded after completing due diligence, obtaining necessary regulatory approvals, negotiating, and signing definitive documentation.

According to AIDronesUA, potential cooperation with the American firm could unlock access to the US capital markets, international manufacturing expertise, and global supply chains. The company is also looking to integrate Ukrainian defense technology into international production lines and secure funding to scale up the production of robotic evacuation platforms.

Empery Digital Inc. is a publicly traded company listed on the NASDAQ. Its market capitalisation exceeds $81 million. The company is involved in electric powersports vehicles as well as digital assets, including cryptocurrency.

MAUL is an unmanned ground vehicle featuring an armored casualty capsule. Defender Media previously reported on plans to manufacture this UGV in Sweden.
