Ukrainian Armor and the European company MBDA, the manufacturer of Taurus missiles and other advanced weapon systems, have signed a memorandum on strategic partnership. The Ukrainian company announced the agreement on its Facebook page.

According to MBDA, the partners will begin their cooperation with the joint development of deep-strike systems and counter-UAV solutions.

MBDA is a leading developer and manufacturer of missile systems and precision-guided weapons. Its portfolio includes more than 45 missile systems in service with over 90 countries worldwide. The company is involved in the production of several key Western weapon systems, including Patriot, Meteor, Taurus, Storm Shadow/SCALP and Enforcer missiles.

The strategic partnership agreement was signed on June 10 by Vladyslav Belbas, CEO of Ukrainian Armor, and Thomas Gottschild, Vice President for Strategy and Future Development at MBDA and Managing Director of MBDA Germany. The signing took place on the sidelines of the ILA Berlin aerospace exhibition, currently being held in the German capital.

“The exchange of technological expertise, the development of joint production programmes and the implementation of innovative solutions will provide an operational advantage in high-intensity conflicts and form the basis for close cooperation aimed at establishing a joint venture,” MBDA said in a press release. “At the same time, these areas represent only part of a broader strategic partnership programme, details of which will be announced in due course.”

Belbas said the partnership would combine MBDA’s deep technological expertise with Ukrainian Armored Vehicles’ wartime integration experience and manufacturing flexibility.

“Our joint work on deep-strike systems and counter-UAV solutions is aimed first and foremost at strengthening Ukraine’s defence in the conditions of high-intensity warfare,” he said.
