Dutch company RE-liON, which manufactures VR training simulators for the military, has registered a legal entity in Ukraine. The business hopes to accelerate its development by having an LLC on the ground.

RE-liON specialises in virtual reality technology. For the military, it offers VR solutions for operational planning and a shooting simulator. In its latest update, it has added, among other things, training in shooting down drones.

To improve its product, the company uses feedback from the Ukrainian front. It also states on its website that it cooperates with the defence ministries of the Netherlands, Germany, and Finland, as well as the EU’s defence agency. Last year, the business secured a contract to supply its kits to a special operations unit of one NATO member state.

RE-liON was founded in 1999 by Chris Haarmeijer and Daan Nusman in the Netherlands, and they began working with immersive technologies in 2005. In addition to the Netherlands, the company also has an office in the United States. In Ukraine, RE-liON will compete with several companies, including Skiftech, L7Simulators and Tekhnary.
