The Ukrainian design bureau IRV has announced its new product – a jet-powered interceptor drone. The development is at TRL-6: the company has a prototype and is working to improve the airframe. An IRV representative told Defender about this during the IRON HALLOWEEN PARTY 2026 exhibition.

The planned speed is 750 km/h, with a range of up to 45 km. The company aims to sell the drone for less than $10,000. IRV plans to complete airframe testing in 2–3 months and to begin serial production three months after that.

In parallel, the startup plans to seek investment for this project. Previously, IRV received a grant from Brave1 and the Lviv City Council.

An IRV representative says the company consulted specialists from Riga Technical University while developing the aerodynamic airframe. It is currently being refined while the company waits for a Taiwanese-made jet engine. Its cost is estimated at approximately $4,400.

IRV says that 80% of all its drones consist of Ukrainian-made parts. The company’s portfolio includes strike FPV drones, bombers, fixed-wing drones, and the Karakurt ground robot.

This UGV was unveiled last year. Karakurt is capable of transporting and remotely launching up to six FPV drones. Its base platform is the tracked ground robot Vepryk, with two rails for six drones mounted on its hull.
