Ukrainian defence tech manufacturers Roboneers and Burevii have signed a memorandum of cooperation. Under the agreement, the Ardal 920 ground drone from Burevii will be integrated with the Saber remote-controlled weapon station developed by Roboneers.

Roboneers said they are considering integrating four modules from the Saber range:

  • Saber 7.62 for 7.62 mm calibre machine guns of the PKT type
  • Saber M240 for 7.62 mm calibre machine guns of the M240 type
  • Saber K-2 with two AK-74 assault rifles
  • Saber MK 19(M) for 40 mm calibre grenade launchers of the MK19 and AGL-53 types

Previously, Ardal had already received a version fitted with the Buria robotic turret from Frontline Robotics. This tracked ground robotic system has a modular design, which allows additional equipment and modules to be installed. As a result, the platform is used for logistics, evacuations and strike missions.

The UGV has a maximum payload of up to 250 kg and a maximum speed of 14 km/h, and uses up to four communication channels: two IP channels (one via Starlink) and two radio channels.

The UGV can be operated via CoreLink – software developed by Burevii. It combines platform control, video from onboard cameras, telemetry handling and monitoring of the UGV’s technical condition.

In early October, Roboneers announced a similar integration of its combat module with the Vepr ground drone. However, that UGV also supports the installation of Saber M2 for 12.7 mm calibre machine guns.
