UGVs with grenade launchers and robotic APCs: 3rd Corps reveals new details of Operation Vivaldi

Fighters from the NC13 strike UGV unit, part of the 3rd Army Corps, have demonstrated their new assault tactics. The troops fitted UGVs with Bullspike grenade launchers, which they used to attack Russian positions.

After firing, the drones would drive right into the shelters themselves and detonate. In this way, the fighters carried out at least 4 operations as part of Operation Vivaldi.

The drones were controlled from a safe shelter dozens of kilometres from the line of contact.

In addition, corps commander Andrii Biletsky stated that modified Soviet APC-60s were used for the offensive in the north of Donetsk region. They converted them into kamikaze robotic complexes used to blow up the enemy’s strongest fortifications.

Since the start of Operation Vivaldi, the troops have liberated 176 km² of territory. Recently, the fighters have restored control over Karpivka and Novomykhailivka, and liberated Nove, Ridkodub and Katerynivka.

3rd Corps operators have been actively using UGVs throughout the operation – in particular, thanks to ‘Griffon’ heavy bombers, kamikaze UGVs were airdropped more than 10 kilometres deep into enemy rear areas. Ground drones were also used for demining, logistics and evacuation.
