Servicemen from the 93rd Brigade developed a UGV that deploys from a bomber drone

Fighters from the Alter Ego UGV battalion, part of the 93rd Separate Mechanised Brigade, developed their own kamikaze UGV, Desantnyk (Paratrooper). They also developed a solution that allows UGV to be precisely dropped behind enemy lines using a bomber drone. Defender learned this from the Brave1 cluster, which helped the unit find a manufacturer.

The process from idea to combat deployment took 10 days. Desantnyk already has confirmed hits, including destroyed shelters and personnel.

The 3rd Army Corps also reported on the new UGV deployment tactic. During Operation Vivaldi, heavy bomber drones Gryphon dropped kamikaze UGVs more than 10 kilometres deep into enemy territory.

The tactic was created by fighters from the NC13 strike UGV unit and implemented with support from the brigade’s unmanned systems battalion drones. Gryphon is the call sign of NC13 machine gunner Hryhorii Bach, who went missing in action during the fighting for Andriivka in 2023.
