Polish defence concern PGZ prepares joint venture with Ukrainian UGV manufacturer

Poland’s state-owned defence holding Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) plans to launch a joint venture with a Ukrainian UGV manufacturer. The parties have already signed a non-disclosure agreement, with a cooperation agreement expected to follow. Ukrinform reports this, citing Rafal Harmoza, director of PGZ International Cooperation.

According to Harmoza, the cooperation agreement will enable the launch of joint UGV production. The venture will operate under the Build with Ukraine or Build for Ukraine model.

At the same time, the potential partner’s name has not been disclosed. The Polish manager explains that their company closely follows developments in Ukrainian defence technology overall, including drones, missiles and EW systems.

PGZ holds approximately 70–80% of the Polish arms market, Adam Leszkiewicz, President of the Management Board, has stated. The concern produces around 700 types of products and has almost 100 enterprises across Poland.

This is not PGZ’s first cooperation with a Ukrainian manufacturer. In June, it signed a partnership memorandum with TAF Industries. Under it, the parties agreed to localise UAV production in Poland.

In addition, Ukraine and PGZ are already cooperating in the production of certain components for ammunition and missiles for the Ukrainian army. The concern also discussed support, repair, and maintenance services for Ukraine’s F-16 and MiG-29 aircraft, Ukrinform reported.
