Ukrainian UAV manufacturer Skyeton has unveiled its new Stormbird drone. It is based on the company’s Raybird reconnaissance UAV but is designed for strike missions.

The manufacturer states that the new drone inherits Raybird’s reliability, flight endurance and resistance to electronic warfare. Powered by an internal combustion engine, the reconnaissance UAV can fly for 28 hours, with a range of over 2,500 km and a maximum altitude of 5.5 km.

At the same time, Stormbird can be equipped with various payloads. These include the Remora glide munition, previously unveiled by Skyeton.

The list of possible payloads also includes the Quadremora FPV-type loitering munition and a relay.

The platform has passed codification and is already being used by units of the Defence Forces. Skyeton says its vision is to create an ecosystem of small fixed-wing UAVs that would carry out reconnaissance and strike missions.

Last month, it became known about a contract between Skyeton and the US Department of War. The latter will purchase Raybird reconnaissance drones and related services from the Ukrainian manufacturer for $10.64 million.
