Ukrspecsystems declassifies RAM-2X mid-strike drone and releases footage of Russian air defence strikes

Ukrainian unmanned systems developer Ukrspecsystems has unveiled the RAM-2X X-wing strike UAV at the MSPO 2026 defence exhibition in Poland, the company’s Deputy CEO Andrii Rymaruk told Defender Media.

Ukraine’s Defence Forces have used the RAM system since 2024, but it remained anonymous until now due to security restrictions. According to Ukrspecsystems, the loitering munitions have already hit more than 450 targets.

The manufacturer has also released footage showing RAM-2X strikes on Russian air defence assets. Defender Media looks at the key details of Ukrspecsystems’ newly declassified strike system and highlights some of the most notable footage of its combat use.

What you need to know about RAM-2X

RAM-2X is a mid-strike system designed to engage high-value targets. It operates at the operational-tactical level with a range of up to 180 km. According to the manufacturer, the drone can remain airborne for more than two hours. It is available with two warhead options: a 2.7 kg shaped-charge warhead or a 3.5 kg warhead.

According to the developers, RAM-2X features a high degree of automation. It can also be equipped with AI assistants.

RAM-2X can be fitted with various communications modules. The system can operate over multiple radio bands as well as Starlink. It also supports relay operations, allowing it to work alongside a reconnaissance drone such as the SHARK-M. In this configuration, the reconnaissance drone provides target designation and helps the system operate more effectively against enemy electronic warfare.

“Users who already operate our reconnaissance systems can now add a strike component that works with the same antennas and ground stations,” Ukrspecsystems said.

Ukrspecsystems has not disclosed further specifications, production volumes, or the price of RAM-2X.

What is the X-Archive and what does it contain?

Ukrspecsystems notes that RAM-2X has a proven track record of combat use by Ukraine’s Defence Forces.

“Footage of targets being hit by RAM systems has been appearing online regularly, but until now, security restrictions prevented the company from identifying itself as the developer behind these strikes,” the company explained.

As part of the unveiling, Ukrspecsystems opened the so-called “X-Archive” to the public. It is a collection of declassified footage of strikes carried out by Defence Forces units using RAM systems.

The company said the first batch of declassified footage shows strikes on enemy air defence assets. This focus was chosen because these are among the most challenging targets for drones: air defence systems are specifically designed to counter UAVs and, because of their value, are better concealed and positioned farther from the front line.

“That is why striking an air defence system or radar demonstrates the key capabilities of the system: its ability to overcome electronic warfare and enemy defences and operate well beyond the line of contact,” the developers said.

They stressed that the military units themselves provided the footage and authorised the removal of the security restrictions. The archive will be gradually expanded.
