Ukrainian companies Vyriy Industries and NOCTIS have unveiled a new ZIRKA interceptor drone. The UAV is designed to bring down fast and manoeuvrable aerial targets, and costs up to $2,000, according to Vyriy Industries.

The interceptor uses automatic detection, tracking and target guidance. It can reach speeds of over 340 km/h, has an operating altitude of 6 km, a flight time of up to 20 minutes and a range of 30 km.

The product was created in partnership. The NOCTIS team is responsible for the development, sales, deployment and support of the product. Vyriy Industries invested in the project and provides expertise in scaling.

Meanwhile, the developers have already announced the next version of the drone, ZIRKA 2.0. It will feature automatic deployment of the interceptor into the target detection zone and enhanced thermal imaging optics, enabling machine vision to detect a target at a distance of 2 km.

The updated interceptor will also have improved detection and guidance algorithms, additional solutions for positioning, communications and automatic warhead detonation near the target. NOCTIS says this will make the interception process as autonomous and safe for crews as possible.
