Ukrainian defence tech manufacturer Zmiyar has closed an investment round of €450,000. The funds will be directed towards scaling, combat testing of smart mine systems, and codification, according to AIN. European investors participated in the round, whose names have not yet been disclosed.

The company began by developing drone initiation boards, and since 2025, has also taken on a smart mine system. It consists of a base control station and “smart” fuzes inserted into mines. Defender Media covered this system in detail previously.

Combat testing of the product is scheduled for April 2026. First sales are expected in May, and by the end of the year, the company plans to sell a minimum of 100 systems, which also include a tablet with precision mapping.

The startup does not plan to introduce new products this year and instead aims to grow its team and sales. As of March, it had sold 30,000 initiation boards for drones.

In approximately one year, Zmiyar plans to conduct its next seed round. Zmiyar founder Victor Shapovalov values the company at €5–10 million.
