Ukrainian company Stetman to launch its own satellite constellation in 2027
The network is being created to meet the needs of the Ukrainian government, special services, and military

Ukrainian company Stetman plans to launch its own satellite constellation into orbit. It will begin deployment in 2027 at an altitude of approximately 550 km. The first phase of the project involves the launch of 120 satellites, according to DOU, citing company founder Dmytro Stetsenko.
A first satellite will be launched in October to test the technology and the constellation management model. Full deployment of the constellation will begin in 2027, with SpaceX assisting with serial launches. The satellites will be manufactured by the Danish company GomSpace, with plans to localise production in Ukraine.
The network is being created to meet the needs of the Ukrainian government, special services, and military, but it will be available to friendly states in the future. Particular attention will be paid to electronic warfare resistance. The group will be able to provide communication services for up to 100,000 terminals in a single country. In 2027, 30-50 thousand terminals are planned to be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the government works on another alternative to Starlink – a military mobile operator. It is intended to provide communications on the front line, although telecommunications expert Roman Khimich claims that it will not be able to fully replace Starlink – only another satellite group could do that.
