New developments from Unwave: Viha EW system, Stepovyi Viter strike complex, and Terrikon-X UGV

Ukrainian company Unwave has presented three new developments for Ukraine’s Defence Forces — the Viha tactical-operational electronic warfare (EW) complex, the Stepovyi Viter strike complex, and the Terrikon-X unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). The new products were publicly demonstrated for the first time during the Unwave 3rd Anniversary Demo Day event.

The Viha EW complex is designed to counter aerial threats at ranges between 7 and 12 km. The system utilises digital vector jamming generation and a precision guidance mechanism operating in three planes, enabling it to suppress UAV control and data transmission channels. The complex supports remote control and can be integrated with detection systems, centralised command-and-control systems, and solutions from other manufacturers.

The Stepovyi Viter strike complex, developed in cooperation with Sky Composite Engineering, is designed to engage targets at a tactical depth of up to 90 km. The drone reaches speeds of up to 170 km/h, carries a payload of up to 5 kg, and is equipped with an optical guidance system for the terminal phase of flight. According to a company representative, the complex requires no specialized infrastructure and is delivered ready for deployment.

The third new development is the Terrikon-X unmanned ground vehicle, developed jointly with Ixian. The platform is capable of carrying a payload of up to 400 kg, towing equipment weighing up to 2.5 tonnes, and operating at ranges of up to 40 km without refuelling. A company spokesperson also stated that the Terrikon-X will serve as the chassis for an upcoming mobile variant of the Viha EW system featuring an automatic telescopic mast.

During the event, Unwave also summarised the results of its three years of operation. Over this period, the company has delivered more than 50,000 units to the Defence Forces, completed over 600 contracts with military units, expanded its workforce to over 350 specialists, and established full-cycle production.
