The Ukrainian-Estonian defence tech companies Farsight Vision and Teletactica have announced a partnership. Together, they are creating a system that will rapidly transmit high-quality photos from drones over long distances. As a result, these can be used to form 3D maps and analytics using Farsight Vision’s tools.

Teletactica CEO Yevhen Zhebko explains that it will not be possible to actively send video over long distances for conversion into 3D objects, but photo transmission is possible – the companies have already conducted tests for this. At the same time, sending photographs is complicated by the fact that data packets can be lost over long distances and under the influence of EW.

The partners want to create a solution that will allow control over the entire file transmission cycle and ensure not a single pixel is lost. The system will operate on Teletactica’s existing product, with changes to software algorithms rather than hardware.

Farsight Vision CEO Viktoriia Yaremchuk says that cooperation with manufacturers enables the integration of different technologies into a single ecosystem. Therefore, the partnership with Teletactica is another step towards creating comprehensive solutions in which secure communications, geospatial analytics, and software work as a single whole.

“On our side, the task is to create a unified system. It will have certain limitations, but we clearly understand that at distances of around 50-100 km, with certain technical characteristics, for a specific set of optics, we will be able to implement image transmission that Farsight Vision will be able to work with effectively,” Zhebko adds.

In spring, Teletactica successfully tested a system to transmit video from a drone over a distance of 170 km. The company says this opens up new possibilities for deep reconnaissance. Dozens of manufacturers and military units use the company’s video module.

For its part, Farsight Vision recently launched a target-detection function for video streaming. The neural network detects objects with an average delay of 6 seconds.
