The Ministry of Defence has codified Queen Hornet – a 17-inch FPV drone from Wild Hornets

The Ministry of Defence has codified the 17-inch FPV drone Queen Hornet from Wild Hornets. The manufacturer presented it in July 2024, and combat units have since received around 10,000 drones. Wild Hornets told Defender Media more about the codification and the drone.

Queen Hornet was codified under NATO standards as part of an unmanned aircraft system and as a standalone product. It will soon appear on the Brave1 marketplace, where it can be ordered using ePoints.

Queen Hornet can serve as a bomber, kamikaze drone, mine-layer, transport drone, and carrier for smaller FPVs and relay stations. Military personnel themselves have also created several modifications, fitting UAVs with rifles, grenade launchers, and flamethrowers.

The drone can carry 9kg over a distance of up to 20km. Maximum flight speed is up to 160km/h, and altitude – up to 3.5km. The company adds that the drone can be supplied with either a DJI digital video communication system or Hornet Vision.

Drones equipped with Wild Hornets’ video communication system can be remotely controlled using the Hornet Vision Ctrl complex. It also underwent codification in late June.
