Airlogix to launch joint drone production with Canada’s Sentinel R&D
The defence ministries of Canada and Ukraine signed an arrangement on supporting the production of Ukrainian UAVs in Canada

Ukrainian company Airlogix is to launch a joint venture with Canada’s Sentinel R&D, the manufacturer of the ReKam drone. In a comment to Defender Media, the Canadian company’s CEO, Kath Intson, confirmed the partnership. Also, today, the defence ministries of Canada and Ukraine announced the signing of an arrangement to support the production of Ukrainian UAVs in Canada.
The joint venture will produce drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, though the models have not yet been disclosed. Airlogix says its goal is to provide the AFU with effective systems as quickly as possible. Kath Intson from Sentinel did not disclose to Defender Media an expected launch timeline for the venture, but added that they plan to do so as soon as possible.
“Because Sentinel is a manufacturing technology company already making fixed-wing drones, we have some existing infrastructure that allows us to start production imminently, barring a few support steps from the Canadian DnD and Ukrainian MoD,” the CEO said.
Airlogix Commercial Director Dmytro Pyatrin told Defender Media that the companies are not publicly disclosing which drone model will be manufactured through the joint venture, but noted that it will be one of the UAVs from the Ukrainian manufacturer’s portfolio.
According to Pyatrin, the first reason for partnering with Sentinel was that the company had already passed the Canadian Ministry of Defence clearance process. “Secondly, they have significant expertise in the rapid production of composite materials,” he added. “This will allow us to scale production quickly to meet the needs of the Defence Forces.”

Kath Intson also added that the company is not producing and shipping drones to Ukraine for the first time. She did not, however, comment on whether her company had tested its ReKam in Ukraine. This is the company’s primary drone, which can be configured for reconnaissance, strike, electronic warfare, or counter-UAV missions. The website currently references several versions of the UAV, one of which has a range of 800+ km. Several more versions are in development.
Previously, Airlogix announced a joint production venture in Germany with Auterion. The facility will assemble new strike drones: the Anubis midstrike, designed to engage enemy equipment and strategic targets, and the Seth-X, suited for strikes against infantry, light armoured vehicles, and logistical nodes. In total, by the end of 2026, the deftech company plans to launch six new joint ventures in allied countries.
