SOF troops from the Donetsk axis have shown the evacuation of a wounded serviceman from an adjacent unit using the Lynx PRO UGV. The robot completed the mission over a distance of 11 km and survived being hit by an improvised explosive device, manufacturer Roboneers disclosed to Defender Media.
The UGV was used for the evacuation because medics could not get the wounded serviceman out under shelling. The system was operated by a fighter of the 1st detachment of the 4th SOF Centre “Ranger” from a command and observation post, with periodic monitoring by an aerial drone.
The video shows fighters placing the wounded serviceman on the system, after which it begins to move. After some time, the UGV runs over an explosive device. The serviceman did not sustain additional injuries, the fighters repaired the wheels, and the UGV continued moving. Later, a fibre-optic FPV struck the UGV on its route but did not detonate. Eventually, the wounded serviceman was delivered to the yellow zone, handed over to medics and evacuated to a stabilisation point.
Roboneers has recently updated its Lynx PRO. For stable communications, the UGV received a digital system with MESH support, and Starlink Mini is now included in the basic configuration. A rear-view camera has been integrated into the system, and the operational range has been extended to 40km, with the option to expand it to 80km by connecting four batteries.
