Ukrainian drone motor manufacturer Motor-G has presented a specialised solution for interceptors – an electric motor called Vandal. The motor has undergone testing at several companies, and the manufacturer is now preparing to produce its first serial batch, Motor-G CEO Oleksii Grebin told Defender Media.

Vandal was developed after the company observed that interceptors frequently need to fly longer at peak load. This means they require powerful motors that do not differ significantly in dimensions from standard ones. “Preliminarily, Vandal demonstrates 10% better efficiency across all operating modes and can sustain high load for longer than conventional motors,” the entrepreneur said.

Vandal is designed for interceptors weighing 3–5 kg and features several design-specific characteristics; for example, the shaft length allows installation of a propeller with an aggressive pitch. The maximum speed interceptors have achieved with this motor so far is 350 km/h.

The motor is priced at approximately 2,000 UAH, though this may vary depending on order volume. The company has not disclosed how many Vandal units it can produce per month.

Oleksii Grebin previously told Defender Media that the company’s total production output had reached approximately 200,000 motors per month. Motor-G entered the interceptor market in spring 2025, initially using customised 3115 motors for this purpose.
