German startup Circus Defence has signed an agreement with the Ukrainian Ground Forces to supply autonomous robotic CA-1 systems, the company’s press office reported.

The agreement provides for the procurement of up to 25 AI-powered robotic systems, with the first users being soldiers at the training grounds of the 3rd Assault Brigade. The company notes that the Ukrainian army is currently a “key early adopter of autonomous systems.”

Circus Defence’s main development is the autonomous CA-1 food supply system and the CircusOS operating system, which manages the robotic kitchens. The military version, CA-M, prepares and portions meals for troops in field conditions. Housed in a camouflage container, the AI system can operate without human intervention, providing hot meals to soldiers in locations where conventional kitchens are unavailable.

The developers report that the containerised CA-M design allows rapid transport and deployment in field conditions, ensuring round-the-clock access to fresh and nutritious meals without the need for kitchen infrastructure or permanent staff.
