The Droid TW 12.7 ground robotic system from DevDroid held one of the infantry positions of the 3rd Assault Brigade for a month and a half, preventing the enemy from taking it. Callsign Makar, the commander of the NC13 strike UGV company within the 3rd Assault Brigade, shared this in a conversation with DevDroid CEO Yurii Poritskyi.

According to Makar, the position overlooked a crossroads from which enemy forces would periodically push forward. Each morning, operators deployed the Droid TW 12.7 for combat duty, and each evening they brought it back to the base. The robot successfully carried out these rotations for a month and a half, engaging the enemy multiple times. As a result, the adversary was unable to break through this section or seize the position.

Makar notes that strike UGVs can relieve some of the burden on infantry: supporting troops during offensive operations and providing cover during defence.

The Droid TW 12.7 is a UGV developed by DevDroid and equipped with a combat module featuring a 12.7 mm M2 Browning machine gun. The system was codified at the end of 2024. In addition to digital communications, it is integrated with Starlink and LTE. Makar highlights that one of the system’s advantages is user-friendly software that allows robot control to be distributed among several operators.

The video was recorded during a crash test of strike ground robotic systems held on 22–23 October near Lviv. Fourteen strike UGVs took part in the trials, including platforms from DevDroid, FRDM, UGV Robotics, TEMERLAND, Rovertech, the Tank Bureau, Ark Robotics, and other manufacturers.
