The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is increasing the volume of purchases of unmanned aerial vehicles and equipment for the armed forces via the DOT-Chain Defence system. An additional UAH 1.9 billion has been allocated for these needs, Minister Denys Shmyhal reported.

A further 50 brigades of the Armed Forces have joined the platform — there are now 180 units using the marketplace. According to the ministry, the average delivery time for equipment through the platform is approximately 10 days.

Furthermore, at the start of the week the Ministry of Defence announced that through DOT-Chain Defence military personnel will be able to obtain UGVs as part of the ‘Army of Drones Bonus’ programme. This means troops will be able to exchange combat points, awarded for destroying and hitting enemy targets, for UGVs. Ground drones will be selectable individually on the Brave1 Market and delivered promptly through DOT-Chain Defence.

Over the past three months, almost 100,000 drones worth UAH 3.74 billion have been delivered to the forces via DOT-Chain Defence.

The DOT-Chain Defence marketplace was developed by the State Operator for Non-Lethal Acquisition to supply the military with weapons and equipment. The system brings together brigades, manufacturers and the Defence Procurement Agency in a single secure digital environment.
