Interceptor drone General Cherry Air has already taken down 5,000 confirmed enemy targets
Interesting facts and figures from Bloomberg’s article on the development of defence startups in Ukraine

The interceptor drone General Chereshnya Air has reportedly taken down 5,000 confirmed enemy targets, representatives of General Cherry told Bloomberg. Among the intercepted targets are both Russian attack and reconnaissance drones.
The General Cherry Air first entered service with Ukrainian forces in February 2025. The cost of a single interceptor drone is 48,000 UAH (about $1,150).
According to the manufacturer, the General Cherry Air can reach speeds of up to 200 km/h — enough to perform standard interceptor tasks in its class, but not sufficient to engage Shaheds or Gerans.
Company representatives also told Bloomberg they are open to attracting a strategic Western investor. They expect such a partnership to bring R&D support, financial backing, and help with scaling production — in exchange for access to General Cherry’s extensive frontline network, which enables fast feedback from drone operators and constant communication with the military.
According to Andriy Lavrenovych, HR Director and member of the company’s board, General Cherry maintains direct contact with 60 Ukrainian combat brigades.
On October 1, Defender Media reported that General Cherry is launching its own academy to train interceptor drone pilots.
