At the request of defence manufacturers, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to restrict access to data on defence industry enterprises in public registers, including their locations and production capacities. This was announced by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.

According to her, the data will be hidden specifically from public aggregators so that anyone cannot freely access it. “We have introduced safeguards to ensure the rule applies solely to defence manufacturers and only for the duration of martial law,” she noted.

Ukrainian public registers currently provide online access to information about officially registered companies, including their registration date, address, and contact details. The government’s decision will allow defence companies to remove such sensitive information from open access.

This is not the only change aimed at protecting the sensitive information of individuals and legal entities in Ukraine. First Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced that the government has adopted a resolution to launch a subsystem for monitoring access to data. This means that Ukrainians will be able to see who is viewing their data in the registers and for what purpose.

Earlier, Defender Media reported that Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence is launching an online service for the codification of military equipment.
