Ukrainian UAV manufacturer Warbirds has developed a 17-inch Starlink-based strike drone, DZYGA-17S, that flew 110 km and struck its target. The system was created at the request of a Ukrainian Defence Forces unit to engage logistics targets at long range, a company representative told Defender Media during the IRON HALLOWEEN PARTY 2026.

The drone has two batteries, while the Starlink terminal has a separate power supply. According to the developer, this prevents the system from rebooting and losing data packets if the main batteries’ voltage drops.

The strike variant is fitted with either a daylight or thermal-imaging camera. At its maximum confirmed range of 110 km, the drone can carry a warhead weighing up to 2 kg. Its guaranteed operating range is 90–100 km.

Several units currently operate DZYGA, including the 422nd Separate Luftwaffe Regiment. The system has already undergone verification of its tactical and technical specifications and is awaiting codification.

Separately, Warbirds is developing a Starlink-enabled bomber drone fitted with a suspended camera. For this variant, the company is refining course- and altitude-hold functions, as well as more precise positioning required to hover over the release point. It is expected to undergo a separate codification process.
