Ukrainian UAV manufacturer UKROPTER has developed a night-time variant of its RETRIX reconnaissance drone. It is expected to be available on the Brave1 Market platform in about a month. Defender Media learned about the development from the manufacturer at the IRON Halloween Party.

The current daytime version of RETRIX can remain airborne for up to 80 minutes and carry a 1 kg payload. According to the company, its stabilisation system enables the aircraft to maintain its heading and azimuth even under electronic warfare suppression.

The night-time variant was developed at the request of the 429th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade Achilles. It features an integrated camera and gimbal. The manufacturer also incorporated additional functions to simplify crew operation, including the ability to reboot the gimbal after landing and remotely switch between day and night modes.

The company is currently completing final adjustments to the night-time version, after which it will be handed over to customers for full operational deployment. Several configurations will be available on Brave1 Market, including options with supplementary batteries.

According to a UKROPTER representative, the company’s products are used by around 50 units. The 71st Separate Jaeger Brigade was among the first operators of RETRIX and tested various versions of the aircraft.

In addition to RETRIX, the company manufactures the UKROPTER system, which comprises a reconnaissance UAV and a bomber drone, as well as the BLACK CAT strike drone. The latter can carry a payload of up to 10 kg over a distance of approximately 20 km.
