Vyriy Industries unveils new Slavic reconnaissance UAV

Ukrainian defence tech company Vyriy Industries has unveiled a new copter-type reconnaissance drone, Slavic. The UAV has undergone its first combat trials in seven units of the Armed Forces and is preparing for scaling, the manufacturer writes in a press release.

The company describes the drone as an alternative to Chinese commercial UAVs, but with increased flight time and greater tactical range. At the same time, Slavic retains control logic familiar to DJI Mavic operators.

A 40,000 mAh battery provides up to 1.5 hours of flight time. Tactical range of application – up to 30 kilometres. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the price.

The manufacturer writes that Slavic uses optical positioning for navigation, while its communication system operates across a wide range of channels. The drone is equipped with a daytime digital 2K camera featuring 10x optical and 30x hybrid zoom.

At the same time, the developers are testing thermal imaging modules for night reconnaissance and are also considering using the platform as a carrier for a signal repeater.

This September, Vyriy Industries also launched the VYRIY. IN TOUCH initiative. Within its framework, joint projects with military units will be launched: charity fundraisers, merchandise, support for specific needs, and so on.
