Wild Hornets’ new Sting S interceptor drone has downed about 10 jet-powered Gerans

Ukrainian defence tech company Wild Hornets is conducting combat trials of the new Sting S interceptor drone. With its help, operators destroyed about 10 jet-powered Geran-4 UAVs and several Geran-5 drones. Defender Media learnt this from the manufacturer.

Testing is currently being carried out in individual units, after which mass production can be launched fairly quickly. The manufacturer is also not disclosing the drone’s specifications until production begins.

Wild Hornets adds that most targets during combat testing were destroyed using the Hornet Vision Ctrl remote control technology.

‘We expect this will allow us to quickly scale the use of the new interceptor after mass production begins and deliveries to combat units start’, the company says.

Over the past few days, Wild Hornets has published two videos showing hits on the Geran-5 missile drone. They were shot down by crews of the 1020th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment, whose positions Defender visited.

Other Ukrainian companies are also actively working on countering Russian jet-powered drones. For example, F-Drones has developed a new version of the Litavr interceptor, while SkyFall has unveiled the P1-SUN JetKiller.
