Rovertech developed assault version of Zmiy Mini UGV armed with a grenade launcher

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and approved for service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine the new Zmiy Mini Strike reconnaissance and strike UGV, developed by Ukrainian company Rovertech.

The system is designed for remote reconnaissance, battlefield surveillance, and fire support for military units, including engaging enemy manpower and armoured vehicles. The UGV supports the integration of various weapon stations, including the Mk 19 automatic grenade launcher.

Key features of Zmiy Mini Strike include a high-speed wheeled chassis with enhanced off-road capability, a silent electric motor, long autonomous endurance, extended operational range, daytime and thermal imaging observation systems, as well as compact dimensions and low weight.

Rovertech developed the Zmiy Mini Strike jointly with the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, incorporating frontline operational experience with unmanned ground vehicles.

The company has not disclosed the detailed technical specifications of the new variant.

Defender Media previously reported on the baseline Zmiy Mini model, which features the highest payload capacity among platforms in its class: carrying up to 550 kg with a vehicle weight of 450 kg. Its range on a single battery charge reaches up to 80 km, while its maximum speed is 15 km/h. The manufacturer’s portfolio also includes mine-clearing, firefighting, and logistics variants of the platform.
