Ukraine and the Netherlands to jointly produce middle strike and deep strike drones

Ukraine and the Netherlands are launching joint production of drones under the Build with Ukraine programme. The drones will be manufactured on the territory of the Netherlands, which will also finance the project. The countries will focus on mid-strike and deep strike solutions, said Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

At the first stage, the manufactured drones will be transferred to Ukraine. The states have also signed an agreement on defence innovation and cooperation between defence enterprises. This was announced during Fedorov’s working visit to the Netherlands.

It also emerged that the Netherlands will allocate €250 million for the supply of additional UAVs to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A further €250 million will be allocated to the PURL programme for the transfer of, among other things, air defence missiles. According to Fedorov, all PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems previously financed by the Netherlands through PURL have already been delivered to Ukraine.

Ukraine had previously announced joint production of middle strike drones with Norway. In this case, too, it is based on the territory of the partner country, and the first drones were to be sent to the Armed Forces by summer 2026.

Ukraine is increasing the production of drones for medium-range strikes, while simultaneously announcing Logistics Lockdown. This is a programme designed to provide units with more middle strike drones and to scale up strikes on the Russian rear. This has already brought results: the Armed Forces have taken control of important roads in the occupied south and east of Ukraine and are systematically destroying warehouses, air defence assets, drone infrastructure, etc.
