The Ministry of Defence has announced TrophyLab – a single centre for studying captured Russian equipment. The platform will bring together researchers and engineers from Ukraine and partner countries so that they can find solutions to counter Russian products.
The platform already comprises more than 115 captured samples, 79 categories and subcategories of equipment, and more than 225 studies conducted. Among the products: UAVs, aviation equipment, small arms, EW assets, UGVs, missiles and armoured vehicles. The platform collects data from units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence, the Security Service of Ukraine and specialised research institutions.
The Ministry of Defence says that TrophyLab will help with reverse engineering, identifying vulnerabilities, studying the component base and more. Verified users of the platform will receive full access to the catalogue of drawings, technical data and analysis results. They will also be able to order physical samples for research and upload their findings to the portal.
Scientific organisations of Ukraine, military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian defence tech manufacturers, state institutions and defence agencies of partner countries, and foreign defence companies of partner states that meet the Ministry of Defence’s requirements can register on the platform.
During registration, the developers vet applicants for the absence of any ties with Russia, the absence of any Ukrainian or international sanctions applied to them and compliance with other mandatory criteria.
