Ukrainian company Oko Camera launches new Oko Pro product line

Ukrainian defence tech company Oko Camera has unveiled a new line of thermal imaging cameras, developed specifically for computer vision tasks. The line has been named Oko Pro, and the new cameras are already available for pre-order. This was disclosed by the company’s CEO, Denys Nikolayenko, in an interview with Defender Media.

Mass production of the new cameras is set to begin in the third quarter of 2026. The Oko Pro models feature a 17-micron sensor with a resolution of 640×480 pixels, which delivers high-quality images. The cameras have also been fitted with a dual MIPI CSI-2® + USB 2.0 interface, built-in video processing, latency of up to 17 or 34 milliseconds (depending on the frame rate), and are capable of transmitting a “raw” 16-bit video stream.

The company says that processing speed is important for interceptors or anti-aircraft turrets, which need to detect and track a target at high speeds. The Pro line has also improved its post-processing algorithms, resulting in better image quality.

The previous Oko Core line is already in mass production and includes seven models that differ in their optics. The company showed the first camera prototypes in 2023, Nikolaienko said.
